Bought a Ducati, Taking the DC roadtest Thurs, got some questions..
Hey guys,
After over a year of joining the site, I finally got myself a Monster! Black 2007 S2R800 with 2,500 miles. Reserved a Motorcycle trailer from U-Haul for $14.95 plus tax, and I'm riding down to Apex, NC on Saturday to pick up my baby. I'm taking the road test to get the M endorsement in DC on Thursday, and I'm using my friend's 2007 GSX-R 600. I've ridden it before, and it's not the most comfortable, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has taken the test in DC? What do they make you do on the bike? Someone told me the test in DC was a joke... so I'm just wondering. I can tell you that the knowledge test in DC was A BREEZE compared to the knowledge test in MD.
Other than that, I have a ton of other Ducati questions, but will get to those once I have the bike... hopefully I'll be able to make it next Wednesday nice to Rhodeside; is that still going on?
-Carlo

I can only answer the Rhodeside question since I"m in MD - Heck, yes - just look for the thread for it every week to see who is going.

I think you can on on the Dmv site and d/l the manual that has the motorized test layout. It only occurs at the brentwood location. Double check to ensure you dont need an appointment. I dont know myself as I have a md "m" as well. For 150 you can take the va msf course and just take the dc written and your are done but ahh if you can ride well save the cash. dc

yea, I had to schedule an appointment like 3 weeks ago...and the ppl at the dmv had initially told me they had a motorcycle for me to use at the testing center. i called brentwood to confirm, and the lady was like, i don't know who the hell told you that! oh well, i was out riding the gixxer today to get a better feel for it.

Re: Bought a Ducati, Taking the DC roadtest Thurs, got some questions..
Hey guys! Passed with flying colors!!! but that doesn't say much. The test was the biggest joke ever... head out from the parking lot and make a right. go to the stop sign and make another right. go to the end of the street (at this point the lady couldn't even see me) turn around and come back. "You're processed"
wohhhoo! ;D
So i'm leaving tomorrow at around 6 to go pick up the bike... i got a uhaul trailer for $15. and i'd like to try and be back by 4 to get my temp tags from the DC dmv.
Anyway, now I'm looking to buy a new helmet... should i buy from a place online??? i'd like to save as much $$$ as possible...
I'll post pics asap.

Though I'm all for saving via shopping on line - I'm more for getting a helmet in person. Helmet fit is very important. Each manufacturer's a little different, and event different helmets from the same makers can have a different fit. So I say go to a proper shop with a wide selection. Get measured and start trying things on.
