I am planning to ride down to VIR this weekend to watch the Moto-ST race and cheer for Tim (Screamin Duc). I will be leaving Saturday morning and taking some great back roads to get there. Due to my excellent planning all the hotels in Danville are booked, so I'm staying in Rocky Mount, VA ~50 miles fom the track. The race is early Sunday morning and will be over around 1PM, I will return at that time. I will be riding at an Enthusiast pace, if you want to join me contact me 2vtwin@comcast.net for details including hotel info. - Gene

Yes it was and Tony was on the PS, we came over the mountain by way of Fort Valley Rd to Edinburg Gap Rd, then over Stony Creek Rd. We were headed down to VIR to watch Tim, Screamin' Duc Racing, race in the Moto ST. We managed to stay dry most of the way, although we had to duck into this station down by Eagle Rock
We had some great roads, won’t give you the route here on the forum, but here are some towns, Timberville, Brandywine, Sugar Grove, McDowell, Milboro Springs, Eagle Rock, Lone Star, Catawba, Rocky Mount. Got to the hotel in Rocky Mount and while at dinner the rain came down hard. After dinner, Tony had the great idea of cleaning our bikes, which we did. Then of course when we got up Sunday morning to go to VIR, it was raining. That delayed our start but we managed to get to the track on mostly dry roads and weather was great while we were there. See Tim’s thread for post about the race. After the race I changed our route to get us back to No VA quickly and maintain an easterly route to stay away from the rain coming from the West, stayed dry all the way back until about 10 miles out, started spitting some rain but not enough to worry about. All in all I thought it was a good trip I only had to modify our route down slightly and managed to find yet another great road because of it. - Gene
