Visitor to DC
I'm visiting DC for the next three days and have absolutely no clue how to get around. I'm staying at the Ritz Carlton at Tysons Corner. From looking at the metro website, it seems I can take a bus to the West Falls Church Metro station and hop a train into DC.
My question is this: From what I read, you have to have exact change for the bus. Do I beg my hotel desk for change for a 20? I'm pretty sure once I get to the Metro station I can get my metro fair card.
Please help...and I'm terribly sorry for the stupid questions... :'(

Re: Visitor to DC
I'm sure the Ritz will give you change for a $20. It is also very possible that they have a shuttle that runs to the metro from the hotel - ask the concierge. If you're around, come meet us in Clarendon at Rhodeside on Wednesday night.

Re: Visitor to DC
Great! Thank you so much!
I'd love to stop by Wednesday. I didn't bring the bike up though, it was a long ass drive from Charlotte.

Re: Visitor to DC
Well if you can get to the metro then you can get to Rhodeside with no problem. Just take Orange line to the Courthouse stop and walk down the hill to Rhodes street. The bar is right on the side.....Rhodeside Bar and Grill.

Re: Visitor to DC
I would be floored if the Ritz didn't have a shuttle to the metro. Don't get a day pass or anything like that, since they have restricted hours on them. You can pay with cash or credit at some of the machines. We don't hold it against people who metro in *ahem*Stillie*ahem*.

That was hilarious when the people from last week thought we were some karaoke butt kicking crew.

Re: Visitor to DC
Oh no you don't. No singing. I'm terribly shy around new people. You'll be lucky to get a "hi" out of me.
I made it in today. Apparently the Ritz only has a shuttle before 7am tho so I had to take a cab. Metro was fun. Apparently, guys don't give up their seats for girls (sorry, from the south, not used to it). All in all, not too bad.
;D

The Metro has it's own set of unwritten rules, one of which is to be inconsiderate to others. I'm sorry you had to see that, at least it wasn't a pregnant woman being made to stand. Oh wait, I've seen that already.
