Default The Monster Lives!

A two year on and off project finally completes! A trail of money and parts longer than my attention span. Cheers! Tim

Well, so far I've only changed the exhaust to the QD Ex Box, CRG lane splitters, and the fender eliminator from Competition Werkes. There's a few other things I'll get to someday, but right now I'm having too much fun riding her!;D

Just a few more mods coming, Oil Cooler, Frame and ForK sliders and steering damper. Then when and if the cams and performance mods come out... its ON!

I'm back, with the same bike as was featured in Aug05, and more history on it. I'm up to 178,000 miles. It was featured in last December's Motorcyclist on the Me and My Bike page. And I got the tank signed by Miguel Galluzzi, the Monster's designer.

Default My 2005 Monster 620 Dark

This is how she looks after a year of rebuilding/modding on a $400/month salary and some odds jobs at home at nights and Sundays.

The headlight bezel was removed and painted flat black, the front fender, I modified by installing grills and the rings that hold the fender to the fork legs are painted red. The S pipes for the slip ons, were painted with 1500*paint, it has held very well. I've also installed a Dobeck FI controler, EVO spark plug kit with Iridium spark plugs, a lightened flywheel from Slingshot Racing and EBC HH sintered pads on the front. The forks, are 'new', the right one was bent on the accident so I bought a 'new' set, with RaceTech internals for my weight, 195lbs.

The whole right side suffered the most damages, OEM rear sets broke, rode it home like that, turn signals were history as well as the brake lever and mirrors[due to technical inspection, I've installed the OEM ones, I'll get fined if no mirrors on bike]. This is a close up of the right side after repairs.

This is the left side of the bike, please excuse the oil smudge on the floor, the water hose and et all...Was doing a customer's car and some oil dripped on the floor from the engine under cover, the OEM M695 rear sets came all the way from Canada, the license plate light housing from Hawaii and the front wheel axle from CT.

This is how it looks from the rear, the CA tail light was painted black all around so that only the visible light is seen, also ShockRacing LED turn signals were installed front and rear, as well as the cover of clutch and brake master have been painted gold and the rear reservoir is a Corsair piece in gold, also, a clear DP tank protector has been installed, The tank has been painted flat black as well as all plastics; the beer tray was really damaged and the guys at my friend's shop did a great job at repairing it.

I've installed a Renthal 7/8" bar with Rhinomoto bar end weights and ProGrip gel grips and a SpeedyMoto top clamp in black.

Ok, today May 23, 2010 I got the logos and installed them. Had them made locally.

This all has been done with the help of fellow Ducatista from all over the world giving me instructions and guidance in my rebuild. Hopefully, this year I can buy the Goldline calipers, 320mm rotors and have custom lines fabbed to match my 749S brake and clutch masters, bought for $150.00.
To all who have helped, a big THANK YOU!!!
