Default Summer Gear...

I just got my first bike in January (Monster 750 Metallic) and I bought a riding jacket from a buddy of mine for $20 when I got the bike but it doesn't have a removable liner.
Now that we have had a few 80 degree days here in Phoenix the jacket I have is a little warm even with all the vents open.
I am looking in to getting some gear for summer riding soon. >
Any recommendations?

Thanks 8)

I did mesh gear with armor all last summer, but am hoping to go to perfed leather soon. Just not too much of a "warm fuzzy" feeling with just nylon mesh between you and a belt sander running at 90 MPH. Around town riding I will probably still wear my mesh jacket though, it's just too damn hot in the summer. The jacket I have is a Joe Rocket Santa Fe (discontinued I think)with perfed leather sleeves/shoulders, and mesh everywhere else. The problem with mesh is that it's so floppy that I'm pretty sure the armor isn't going to stay put in a crash, so it's just a matter of if I happen to land onit for the first hit. I actually added little straps to the sleeves on mine to help cinch up the elbow armor, like many newer jackets have.

Whatever gear you get, just make sure it fits well. If you go mesh or textile I would look for full armor (back, shoulders, elbows, knees, hips, etc.), and maybe something that has leather in the typical wear points.

Dainese Nevada... Full perforated 1.2mm leather... Very comfortable like most Dainese gear and actually isn't bad in 100+

Out of towner

Ironpony.com a shop out of Columbus Ohio has the teknic prowler for closeout for 99.00. Its an all black perfed leather jacket with armor. I believe they also have a flashier(not all black) perfed one for the same price. I got one and I like it. Haven't had a chance to test in heat. Cincinnati winter is a bitch.

Try on some teknic gear somewhere else for your size, closeout is you bought it you keep it. I went a size or two big.

I have the MotoPort GP-2 Kevlar suits. it's very comfortable for summer trackdays. I wear the jacket on rides all the time too. They have a new one piece "Air Mesh Kevlar Suit" I've been looking at. It's not a race suite but for touring.

Kevlar is a lot lighter and breathable then perfed leather.

Default Howzabout Gloves?

I'm on the lookout for a pair of cool-running but well-protected gloves for summer duty. Any favorites? Or any experience with these N2 Kangaroo gauntlets?

https://www.motoliberty.com/prod_detail.asp?Prod_ID=110

I'm not familiar with the brand, but I like the kangaroo palms/fingers without a lot of seams and the perforated back with a bit of armoring.

Thanks!!
