So turns out the akrapovic and remus pipes for the 2014 - 2016 1200 don't fit the 2017 model. The problem is that the link pipe is 3 inches too short so doesn't reach the bracket on the passenger foot pegs.
Anyone know of silencers that do fit? Aside from the termi.
SC Projects have emailed me to say they'll have one on their website in the next few weeks. A UK distributor has told me that Akrapovic are looking at it at the end of June to decide what they want to do.
I emailed Bellisimoto and they said the 2016 parts still fit on 2017. And got the same email from sc projects saying the application is the same regardless of the changes made to the new model.
I'm afraid they're wrong - I was told it was fine when I ordered it too. It was only after I fitted it and the dealer told Remus about the issue. Here's a picture showing where the can lines up relative to the bracket.
I replaced my 2017 Monster S OEM exhaust hanger with an Evotech my dealer had for a 2016 and everything lined up perfectly. Also, SC Project told me their 2016 exhausts would fit on my 2017.
Update on this... Sc project have now said it'll be September to December before they have one ready! No news from anyone else so I bought a termi today!
Slightly surprised how heavy they are - 4.3kgs ish - against the remus (2.3kgs) but they sound incredible!
I'm doing a comparison video with revs, fly by and sound inside helmet. It'll be the stock then the termis with baffles then without so pretty extensive. Give me a week or so and check back for the video if you're interested.
I've taken my time over this but here is a video of the Termi with/without DB killers. Recorded using a professional microphone so you can hear it properly! I've done revs, a fly by and riding through a tunnel.
