G Day all , I put a 696 Y piece on my 1100s ( 2010 ) and got a Duc EE from Moto Creations in the states for about $ 140 ( Ish ) USD and yes the flow is better for sure it made the bike run a whole lot smother , when you think about it it has to any pipe with any obstruction in the flow path has to restrict it natural path.
These Y pieces are like chickens teeth to find though and I had to buy a whole used system from a 696 ( not the cheapest option ) from ebayUS and get it shipped to Australia.
The worst part is that you will have to remove the fuel tank to change it out not to difficult but time consuming
