Panniers / Saddle Bag options for older monster? Need some ideas...

Ive been toying with the idea of adding some panniers for longer trips...

I have a 2001 m900s ie with low mount exhaust... I'm not thinking like huge ST or Adventure bike style... Low profile and sleek, open to new ideas...

A few options I've considered:

I have toyed with the idea of modifying these to fit on the back of the bike.

These are cool but they seem to be larger than what I am looking for...

I'm thinking custom might be the answer, but if anybody has any other suggestions I would definitely consider. Please keep in mind, I'm not going for the typical pannier here, I want it to look custom and unique, with a military look (but more than just and ammo box strapped to my bike). I'm thinking somewhere between a pelican case and a std. ammo box. CF is a plus!

Thanks in advance...

Ammo box from Cabela's for 8 bucks, may be a good place to start for a mold...

I've looked at the Giant Loop myself and am thinking about getting them for my monster. I have "sport" saddlebags which would fit GREAT except for the stock turn signals being exactly where the saddle bags would sit. The Giant Loop are pricey, for sure, but it seems like another example of "buy now, keep forever" as opposed to "buy now, replace with ones I should have bought anyway."
