Default Monster796 with riser bars!?

I am a currently a Classic Ducati owner, but want to move on to a modern Monster 796. I have test ridden a few bikes and the monster floats my boat.

The only thing I wish to change is the height of the bars slightly, upwards not down.

I am told by my local Ducati Dealer that this is not possible on the 796 only achievable on the 696.

Does anyone have any experience with this, as the 796 would be my preferance.

I would really be greatful for any piece of advice.

Check out the speedymoto clip-on risers, they have a bar riser as well.

Yeah,

Here is the link to Speedymoto website. There is a link to the left as well since they're a site sponser.

And you can find them here to order.

how bout a different handlebar?
the rizoma is a little higher and more swept back

you could also use the Rizoma 60mm riser. that will probably require also changing the throttle cable for a longer one

Right now I am running the Rizoma Bars/60mm Risers and there was no need to swap the throttle cable (but I have a 696). Everything worked out great! It gives a more natural feel as the bars are a little more "in" and they sit a little higher and closer to the rider.

PS. Jeff the PIAA H4 White Lights look great on my bike and illuminate the night, Thanks.

Nate looks good. Was going to try the kit to raise the bars Ducati offers with new cables, controls and wires but the cost is over $400. This looks like a less expensive alternative. Are there any problems at all with the way you have things set up that anyone should be aware of before starting the project? Do you need to re-route any wires or does everything pretty much fit without too much trouble? Do the bar clear over the top of the tank?
