My last resort is my mechanic who obviously has more knowledge in bike electricals than me
HealTech guys have been very supportive and they are even ready to replace my unit with the X-type indicator which is a bit more tedious to install. But before that I would want to make sure my unit doesn't work by any means..

I thought the DS versions were plug n play? No splicing involved. I installed one on my 1000RR and it simply plugged into the diagnostic port in the battery tray and that was it. Is the monster version different?

For monster DS series you do need to attach one wire to the fuse box and the other goes into the diagnostic port.

Since it is not working on my bike HealTech guys have suggested me to go for the X-type which needs splicing two wires.

An update on my Gear indicator issue.
Since I wasn't able to fix the issue by re-routing the wires, I sent the gear indicator back to HealTech guys and they happily replaced it with a new one.

Installed the new one and it has been running flawlessly since then.

A big thanks to HealTech guys!
