Default Which termignoni for 696

Hi,

I have just got a new 696 and I am looking at getting some termignoni's for her.

I have not yet decided whether I prefer the look of the CF, titanium or stainless.

My question is, what are the differences between the pipes? I guess weight is a main point but what about sound, performance, maintenance etc?

Thanks in advanced.
Andy

It's generally a preference between looks...
Alum is the heavies , ti can get dinged, CF can fade from UV exposure.

alum is the cheaper material, ti and CF usually weigh and cost about the same.
sound should be similar, but some CF cans have a deeper tone than the metal ones.

carbon cools the fastest, which will be nice on your skin when you hop off and tinker around with it.

We've sold a lot of all 3, but definitely carbon is the favorite. Many more sold than the other two. We've got carbon and stainless steel in stock. Titanium will be back in stock the second week of October.

Here is a link to the options from Ducati Performance: http://www.store.commoto.com/monster...5_239_240.html

All Monster 696 parts are here for those that haven't seen the lineup. Some really good parts! http://www.store.commoto.com/ducati-...-c-15_239.html

I think it depends on the color of your bike. For me...I have black, so I'm going Ti. If I had red or white I would go carbon. Weight of the 2 is really not noticeable nor is there any performance difference... just which you think will look best on your bike. IMO.

I got my CF ones fitted yesterday, and its the dogs bollocks! Looks great on my black 696, exceptionally loud without the baffles, great note, and it absolutely transforms the bike performance.

It went from, alright, but gutless (sorry) to intimidating hooligan machine in one go. I'm estimating an extra 7 bhp but not sure.

One thing you might want to consider, is the stock exhausts make pillion impossible because they heat up so much, and the CF ones dont heat up much. If you are going to do any 2 up riding go with the CF

Default Titanium is the heaviest

The titanium exhaust is "street legal" and has catalytic converters built in,
so it is the heaviest and IMHO least desirable of the 3.

Carbon Fiber is expensive but lightweight and really cool.
Stainless is your best performance value, but difficult to distinguish
from the stock exhaust, except for the cheesy sticker.

I will probably add stainless when I'm done break-in.

Carbon +1

And I think even the white one, carbon slip-on is still my best choice.

P.S. Not my bike
