I just ordered the T-Rex sliders off of eBay myself. I contacted the seller first and you need to add a message with your payment that it's for a 696. He said the 696 requires a longer bolt that they will send without extra charge.

I just have never heard anyone make fun of frame sliders.... for some reason your the only person i have ever run into in my entire life. and that is the only reason i would see people not liking sliders is if they didn't actually ride.

I don't mean to make fun. I just think they are ugly as hell and a statement to the world that I'm going to lay my bike down at some point, it's inevitable. I'm a reckless rider. That's the wrong statement IMO.
I think it more productive to learn how to be a good and smart rider instead of planning ahead for a future crash.

For stunt riders I guess they are mandatory? I wouldn't want to be a stunt rider and have a bike that looks like shit all the time.

Believe it or not, you CAN ride a motorcycle for many years without crashing.

I just sold my turbo/intercooled Busa that would lift the wheel at 175 MPH in fourth gear. It had no sliders. It never needed sliders. If I would have needed sliders, I would have been dead anyway. Of course, I wouldn't have needed leathers or a helmet either if I ever fell off.

Since you know you are not going to fall- do you not wear a helmet or leathers too?

I must be a pessimist. I believe in the sliders.

I was in the parking lot waiting for the intersection to clear out when I was hit on the left side on my 999R by someone backing out. I flew over the right side and the bike went down.

No damage to the Carbon fairings or clutch. I only had to replace my Rhinomoto bar end sliders, front axle slider, delrin insert in my Acculign rearset footpeg and the Pitbull Delrin spool on the rear swingarm.

I've had a lot of customers that have gone down on track days with minimal damage --and even continued their track days. Some have fallen with no damage.

I've seen bikes fall because kickstands sink into the asphalt - no damage.
