Thanks! I will be getting this installed at the beginning of next month. I am really looking forward to this mod. I understand the bike feels like a different machine after installed.
Do you have to reflash and use this PCV? I was talking with the Dyno shop and it sounds like doing both is redundant.
Anyone?

I had mine reflashed so I could eliminate the o2 sensors and raise the rev limiter...
You cannot tune the bike below 4500-5000 rpm because anything below that range is closed loop and the ECU has pre-determined mapping that cannot be adjusted... If you Eliminate the o2 sensors, you eliminate that closed loop area and you can thus tune the bike in the lower RPM range...
This I found, made the bike run much smoother and eliminated that low end stumble

Thanks. I really just trying to understand this. I was told the PC-V plugs inline between the O2 sensor and the ECU which then controls the signal sent by the O2 sensor to the ECU.
The way 'closed loop' was explained to me is that it means that when you hold the throttle while cruising it sends a signal to adjust the fuel/air mixture at the rpm and speed. When you are using the throttle it doesn't make any adjustments, until you settle in like on the highway.

My local Ducati go-fast shop (Nichols Engineering) says they now reflash the stock ECU with various maps, as opposed to a PCIII, etc. For example, when I asked about setting up my '05 S4R after installing a Zard full system he said for $200 they would reflash my ecu with the DP map.

My shop won't touch anything related to the exhaust unless you buy the Termi system.
I am thinking of having the pc5 installed, but after talking to a guy at Dynojet it looks like I should have the ECU reflashed before I do that.

Random post- I pulled the DP ecu on my 696 with Termi's temporarily and reinstalled the stock and found that once it heats up my idle climbs to 1800 rpm, if I blip the throttle it drops back to 1100 but slowly rises back up. It was just interesting to see how the stock ecu reacts to the readings from the o2's with the increased flow. Oh, and the bike felt gutless off the line.

Just a heads up, they will not flash the newer model Siemens ECU. I called this morning to check on it.

I had Matt at MotoWheels reflash the Siemens ECU on my m1100. It now has the termi program (race version) and works amazing with the PCV and Autotune with LCD display. Bike is completely tuneable now and smooth like silk from 1500rpm to the top, along with all the grunt needed where I want it.
The nice thing about tuning to a specific AFR is that you can tune your lower RPM and throttle positions to a leaner AFR to gain good mileage while just cruizing along, then fatten it up for higher throttle positions and RPM range for more power.
For startup I don't use the autotune at zero throttle position, rather I add about 30% more fuel at 500-1000 rpm to get rid of that annoying start-up stall condition that everyone complains about, then control the idle (1000-1500 rpm) via fuel trim charts and monitor via live wideband AFR readings. The bike starts great and doesn't make your eyes bleed with fuel when warming up.
IMHO - this is the best mod I have done to the bike. Oh, and all the better with the full flow pipes and Wasp intake kit!

That is awesome. Just to clear my post up, you can get several places to re-map the ECU just not Nichols in the bay area. They can do the older model ECU.
I'm definitely looking forward to getting the re-map and the other bits installed. I just have to start saving for Italy in October. So it may have to wait until then, but the re-map I'm going to try and swing sooner then later.
Sent from my Monster 696
