Yes, you can use your stock turn signals with the cookie chop. The kit has all you need and is readily available on monsterparts.com for $100.

Also, the hacksaw is your simplest and cheapest option (IMHO). I guess you could get a cutting disk for your drill, similar to the dremel method, but I wouldn't suggest it.

Default Competition Werks

I love Competition Werks kit. it's clean, simple, and includes mount holes for blinkers. It essentially turns your license plate into a fender! lol

I second the Competition Werkes kit. I used that with the Clear Alternatives integrated tail light. The kit does come with a bracket for rear blinkers though. Also, you can buy a pipe cutter like plumbers and electricians use at any hardware store. You get a clean, even cut.

Hows it going guys...Ive just been floating around gathering info but I figured I may as well post.

I broke down and finally decided to do the tailchop over the weekend...I enjoy fabricating and customizing so I opted to make my own bracket. I must say I am happy that I didnt pay $90+ for the kit but I dont think I would make one for someone if they were willing to pay me $150 haha. I used an old Bus Stop sign me and my buddy found on the road last year....cutting cutting drilling drilling bending and I am happy with the final result.

Anyone wanting to attempt this on their own I encourage it as long as you have the patience to make sure all your measurements are exact or else you can easily end up missing a detail or making it look sloppy and uncentered. I made frame plugs out of some old bushings and rubber covers I had from various car projects. I am 100% more satisfied with the way my bike looks now, we will see how long it holds together hah but I definitely say anyone thinking about it who is maybe weary about cutting the frame...go for it.

I used the Competition Werkes tail chop kit and it looks great. I got it at MonsterParts.com. I also installed the Clear Alternatives integrated tail light which works but is a little cheesy.
