Well, I've realized now what *real* wind is like. So I've finally gotten around to ordering up a Dart flyscreen. Took less than a week to get to me, and about 15 minutes to install, which included me going out to the shed to get tools. Excellent workmanship. Very clean lines and a finish that matches the Duc perfectly. Heck, I couldn't have designed a better piece. The naked look of it really fits in nicely to the overall look of the bike as well.
I've never had a screen on this bike, so I was really interested in testing it out. Commuted to work the next day and took the long way round via the motorway to get a good idea of high speed effects. Then took the back roads home to get that feel too.
WOW! What a difference this little baby makes. While I still have to tuck in to my tank at high speeds, I'm actually comfortable. I'm not fighting to hold onto the bars, or get blown off the back by the wind buffeting. Also, not a single shudder or vibration. On the back roads it was a little less noticeable, but I found that my neck felt better after getting home because I wasn't pushing against the constant wind. My neck felt more relaxed riding as well due to this, which helped to relax my shoulders and arms.
So, overall score? 5/5 I'd say. For not much dosh, you get a real quality product that actually performs, and even looks great. Can't beat that deal.
