Gentlemen and Ladies, I seek the benefit of your combined wisdom to help me resolve a tiny problemo. I'm the delighted owner of a set of Rizoma billet grips and matching bar-ends - see pics. My little issue is this: The Rizoma grips are slightly shorter than the originals, so that when the new Rizoma throttle tube is mated up to the original alloy throttle casing there's an 8mm gap between the outer end of the new grip and the new bar ends, not a pretty thing. Solutions as I see it are these:
1) drill a new hole in the bars 8mm further outboard to accomodate the alloy throttle casing's integral locating pin.
2) file off the alloy casing's locating pin so that I can mount the throttle assembly anywhere along the bar that suits (problem is that the throttle assy is then no longer positively located on the bars, and once done cannot be reversed).
3) cut 8mm off the end of the handlebar (seems a bit crude/drastic).
I'm unsure as to what the best solution is............
