mladin is a family man and has no interest in moving to a new series, let alone one that'll keep him away from his wife and kid.
he had his chance in 500gp (cagiva) and it wasn't a very positive experience for him (he went too young).
the only reason he is still in the ama is because he has ben pushing him. once ben leaves, mat will retire.
