Buying from the States is never a problem, all the sponsors of DML ship here and yes as you said it's just a matter of cost.
As for recommendations I guess it depends on where you relo's are going?
I bought back a bunch of stuff when I was in Canada last year, tried to save myself some postage to home.
Didn't really happen as Canada Post pinged me on import tax from the U.S. so got dudded.
I'd be careful buy riding gear though as you never know how it may fit when it arrives?
Parts are a different are a far easier prospect in MHO.
