Re: Starting to feel human again...
Thanks everyone!
I'm not too sure about that back brace... It was probably made for dwarfs (or elderly women, who, it seems, make up the bulk of the compression fracture demographic). Tuesday I'll go back to the doctor, and I might get fitted for a custom brace, if I still need one at all.
Surprisingly, I'm walking up and down the house, becoming increasingly independent, and getting bored to tears. And, I'm told, showing my cranky side every now and then. I guess happy pills did have their bright side after all. Their down side was making me feel incredibly tired all the time, not up for anything.
I don't know what I'll do with the bike. The subframe is bent, and I think the headlight bracket might be too. The fairing is busted, as is the tail section. I don't know how the forks are. Everything else seems fine. The question now is: "Do I sell it like it is for a grand or so, or do I spend the money on a mechanical inspection and susbsequent repairs (at least a grand, more depending on the prognosis) and sell it for 3 grand or so?" Insurance is useless, thanks to their "racetrack clause". At least I read the contract before deciding whether or not to call them.
I'm looking forward to being able to get out of the house, then I'll see if I can't make it to a DML lunch [thumbsup]
