put a 160 on
better handling, lighter and more than enough for the power of a 750
I once put a 170 on a 750ss with the same wheel, and the handling sucked!!!
it looked all wrong too with near vertical tyre edge and all...
just don't do it
It'll work, but I've never heard of a performance gain. I assume that you want a wider look & by squeezing it onto the 4.5" rim, it's not going to look very wide either.
Thank you for all the advice everyone! I decided to buy a 5.5 when I find one cheap. I can't help it. My friend Billy let me ride his m900 the other day with the 180 and I loved it.
oh i forgot to mention the power pilots are a little wide so the chain will rub on the lip of the tire for a hundred miles or so. it wont be a problem. i just lubbed the chain a little more frequently. Its fine now.
If you want the wide look, try a 160 Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier. It's the widest profile of any tire I've seen and I love the performance. IMO great tires (but I've always liked Dunlops). It looks like a 170 and works without any problems on the 4.5 rim.
