Dragsterhund, glad to hear you are relatively ok. * Don't kick yourself about the brake. *We all *know* what we're supposed to do. *Actually *doing it* is not a question of how much you know, but whether you've managed to mentally program away that particular survival reaction (here letting off the brake when you get sideways). *Even experienced racers, for example, will sometimes chop the throttle a bit and highside. *We all know you're not supposed to do that. *
re the gear issue, I've lowsided with SP2s and slid for a while on asphalt before getting into the dirt. *They held up just fine, and I'm pretty sure i got my hand down on the pavement a bit while I was sliding. *
