thanks for this info Markus.

when you say that it needs a flanged sprocket, i'm thinking it could be one like my bike has. the same as a 999 with single bolt in the middle instead of the one with the two small bolts like on my previous 916. would you say?
It's the 2 bolt style one, probably similar your 916 one. When i regeared my bike last winter I looked high and low for a 14T sprocket but I was told repeatedly (both on the DML and by various Duc shops in Canada and the US) that no such conversion existed for the injected 900's. Eventually I found a shop in Baltimore that swore they had the appropriate counter sprocket so I bought it. Had it shipped to me but it wasn't the right part and wouldn't bolt up w/o grinding to accomodate the oddball flange just as i was told by others. I sold it on Ebay and bought a 43T rear instead which BTW is terrific.

* I'm just now doing a search for the appropriate part # and it looks like (according to the www.ca-cycleworks.com site) AFAM has available a 14T that does fit in place of the factory 15T on the 900ie's. Looks like things have changed over the last 2 years and I may stand corrected...
