I'd say this is the bike. I don't know if you guys remember the shots of the DD16RR way back when, but it had just some random exhaust stuck on and the bodywork looked like nuts, etc.... Then the final product came out looking much different.

That is a 9*6 swingarm with a plate welded to it to cover the chain. Look at it then look at a picture of a 9*6 swingarm and then reconsider your statement. I know a guy who did that same type of thing to a Honda Hawk track bike after losing a chain and having it fly up and rip a chunk out of his leg on the track.
Not hard to do at all.
