Default Desmoworld S2R 1000 Midpipe

Wanted to post pics of the Desmoworld S2R 1000 midpipe I just put on my bike.* Seems to be lots of interest in midpipes for the 1000 since it differs slightly from the 800 and 996 bikes.* The two biggest differences are a) the stock pipe is all one piece with no stubby header, and b) the 1000 uses an O2 sensor.* Hopefully these pics will be useful.

Here is the midpipe itself.* It mounts up perfectly.* It comes with the a short stubby header.* I was wondering why it isn't all one piece.* My guess is since they already make the midpipe for the 800 and S4R it is easier to just include a stubby header than make different pipe all together.* Either way nothing to worry about.* It fits like a champ.

Here is a shot of the crossover with the O2 sensor in place.* It utilizes the stock sensor.* Ducati was kind enough to leave enough slack in the harness to run the sensor to the bung.* It now rests a bit further back than it's stock resting place.* There is a tab with a hook to keep the wire off the motor.* A nice touch I think.* Don't know if it's clear in the pic though.*

This is the backside of the crossover.* I like the routing of this better than the DP piece which has two pipes with a 3rd connecting the two.* I just think this is cleaner.* And the bends are such that gases should be able to flow freely.* You can see the mounting tab allows you to mount it with the stock dog-bones off the original cat.

Here is another....maybe the nicest difference....between the Desmo piece and the DP piece.* The routing is offest so you can access the oil plug and filter.* I saw the pics of the DP piece and was troubled by the limited access to the drain plug.*

The fit and finish on this piece are excellent.* The exits match the stock exits dead on and the stock cans bolted right up with no drama.* This will allow you to run any cans that work with the stock cat.* Termi, Sil Motor, Arrow, etc.* And since the Desmo/Spark cans mount to this piece you can put pretty much any cans on it you'd like as long as they work with the stock cat.

The pipe comes highly polished and is turning a nice gold color now that some heat is being run through it.* All in all a nice piece that was thought out very well.* Can't think of anything negative to say about it.
