Re: Popped my first cherry. CHERRY WON'T START
Well I had a minor success. I was able to get the starter to turn over the engine. It must have been the connection to the starter solenoid because that was the only thing I really messed with. *Of course I'm not out of trouble yet. She still won't fire. I've tried switching the spark plug cords back and forth but it's the same both ways. (Norm posted the answer to that question while I was typing this. Thanks Norm.) I can hear the engine turning over but it doesn't sound like it's getting a spark, or maybe it's not getting gas. I can't tell. It's just not firing. I'm working on tracing the fuel lines and making sure they are routed correctly and there are no kinks. Anyone know of a good link to explain how carbs work. To tell you the truth I'm not really sure and the more I look at it the more it just doesn't make sense. Like why does the fuel enter the equation in the manifold, between the carbs and the engine. I always thought the carbs mixed the fuel and the air. Either I just don't understand it or I have it hooked up wrong.
