note: This is the second Featured bike by Norm Brown,
who has a real fondness for innovative design and
a knack
for
brutal looking bikes.
|
This
is bike #1 of the frames that my son & I have started
making. Foggy123 from the list was brave enough (or dumb
enough) to ask us to
make it for him.
The
rear mud guard & chain guard is
made from tubular SS. |
|
|
The
motor is all stock except for FCR carbs. The motor mounts
are Nichols. The tubing is oversized 4130 chrome-moly.
The frame weights about 5# less than stock. The whole
bike weighs 356# including an oversize battery. This bike
will
easily be under 340# with a few mods from it's new owner. |
| The
2 into 4 exhaust was all his idea & we
struggled for awhile trying to come up with something that
was inspired by, but not a copy of, the MV bikes. We ended
up making the headers from scratch & using 4 cherry
bomb mufflers from the local auto parts store (are you listening
George?). I then welded on 4 of the SS bling-bling tips that
all the kids bolt on to their little cars. |
|
|
The
tank is an old banged up chromo model that we repaired.
We left the center strip chromed & painted the rest.
Idiot lights are built into the top triple. |
| The
wheels are BST carbon & the tires
are Dunlop 208 street on the rear & a GP208 on the front.
Ground clearence is virtually unlimited & the grip (especially
up front) is phenomenal. |
