Second Place: Martin Wong
Sacramento, CA

Carbon Fiber, titanium and billet aluminum throughout; Custom painted frame and bodywork; Carbon wheels; 944 big bore kit w/dual plug heads; SS cams; Kehin carbs; Superbike front end; Brembo 999 brakes; GP radial master cylinders and kevlar lines; Ohlins suspension; One-off billet pieces. ($40K invested.)

The best mod so far was the Carbon wheels. It handles, brakes, and accelerates faster and better than before.

The bike retains the look of a Monster, but performs like a Superbike. It has the "GO" to match the "Show".

Third Place: James Martin
Salinas, CA

Shortened rear frame; Frame painted red; 6-inch rear wheel with 190 tire; Custom marbelized paint scheme; Arrow slip-on mufflers; Moto Cat billet rear sets; Clip-ons; Ducati Performance radiator fairings; Carbon front fender; Side covers and much more.

Favorite thing: The paint job gets the most attention.

Why the coolest: There isn't another quite like it, hands down.

It's a versatile bike: It's great for getting around town and for spirited weekend rides. I can take it out and put my knee down at the track. I can use it for touring, and it's a wheelie demon. I've ridden over 36k miles on the bike since I got it in 2000, including a solo trip from Boston to Chicago, and one from San Francisco to Denver. And after all that, I can still take the bike over to a big parking lot around the corner for some hooliganism.
