This month's featured bike - Bill Sauer's (aka-DTMSurf) 1994 M900

This is my 1994 M900. I bought it in the beginning of December and it already had a 944 kit, FCR
carbs and the yellow frame. I paid $3500 and because of the way it ran I kinda thought I was getting
hosed. It stopped starting about a week after I bought it. I had the starter pulled (I was a little
scared to jump into the motor in that first week but now I wish I had) and had it rebuilt, this
after replacing almost every other electrical component. Well the bike never ran quite right. After
many weeks of replacing worn or shot parts, cleaning carbs and retuning, I finally got it runnin
good. Then I started the fun stuff!

I bought a scratched gas tank and had it powdercoated. I pulled the swingarm and had it, and all the
bracketry, coated as well. Coated the handlebars and headlight bracket. Painted the tach and speedo
housing. Found some one off rear sets on Ebay, had them anodized, and made brackets for my exhaust.
Shopped around untill I found great deals on a few things, Brake tech front rotors, custom one off
sidestand (had it anodized), grips, mirrors, carbon fender and side covers, and a billet gas cap
from Motowheels.

I changed the gearing with a one off Vortex 40 tooth sprocket (my wheels were discontinued two years ago)and an Afam 14 tooth front from Chris and Ca-cycleworks. Chris was alot of help to me especially during all my trouble shooting, thanks again Chris.
Ive got steel braided lines all the way around and an Oddessy battery. The rear brake caliper bracket, lower forks, and top triple have all been polished.
I have a totall of $5000 into the bike, now I think its worth it!

This bike is my daily driver. I commute 50mi. a day on it and ride it up Palomar on my days off. I LOVE IT!
