This month's featured bike - Troy Woodard's "BostroMostro"

Here's my 1999 M900. I believe it is an "S" as it had clipons on it. I bought it salvaged with no wheel, no footpeg hangers, no shift levers, broken rear light, tailpiece, bent back wheel and 4500 miles.

I put a superbike wheel on the front, got all the pieces and Voila I had it at DRA. It was red with a cut superbike fairing with the carbon fill piece where the lights go, and fog lights behind showing only through a 1 1/2" hole in the carbon piece, and a white corse stripe.

My brother wrecked the bike again only 3 months later, while visiting. It dented the tank, broke the fairing and some scratches. My friends all said, "Wow, you don't even seem pissed".

I had seen the Bostrom Superbike replica at DRA and thought it oughta be a monster. I thought "IL BostroMostro" as a theme was a natural!

It has the wheels, frame, footpegs and hangers, and other small bits powdercoated candy sparkle blue. The paint was done by a local guy who had no idea what the real Bostrom was so I spent a lot of hours laying out the lines and patterns. I got the paint back the Sunday before Superbike weekend at Laguna Seca in 2002. It won best monster at Ducati Island in 2002. I had Ben Bostrom sign the tank at Laguna Seca, and it looks exactly like the Superbike signatures. It has "IL BostroMostro 001/001 " engraved on the handlebar clamp. I added Marchesini wheels since as well as the side flames and some other decals. It has 41mm FCR's with UNI Filter Pods, but otherwise stock engine!

Current Mods:

  • Carbon Bits: (Upper with high shield, front fender, side panels, rear hugger, tailpiece, swingarm chain adjuster plates, clutch cover, belt covers)
  • Marchesini wheels
  • Full exhaust system with Remus Extreme High pipes
  • Keihin 41mm FCR's with Unipod filters
  • Steel braided lines and HH pads
  • Sargent seat
  • Billet bar end mirrors
  • Powder coated frame, wheels, and numerous other pieces

Planned future mods:

  • Rear Ohlins
  • Front fork internals
  • Light flywheel
  • Brembo Radial Brake master
  • Slipper clutch
  • High comp pistons or a 944 kit (or both)
