Adding a photo to your message - Updated version by Tyler A on 2008-May-15

This FAQ covers how to add a photo or attachment to your messages.

Please note that this is different from the previous board configuration, as you can now upload the photo at the time you post.

To start off, create a post or reply. Enter your title and message as usual, but before you hit "Submit Reply", click on the paperclip icon above your message (the "Manage Attachments" button below the message box also works).

A dialog should pop up allowing you to choose files for upload. Please note that if you have a popup-blocker enabled, you may need to allow the popups for the site first.

Uploading a file from the attachments manager is the same as to a gallery. Either choose "Browser" and select a file from your hard-drive (then click upload), or enter the URL of a file that's already online somewhere else (and click upload).

The file will then be uploaded, and will show up under the "Current Attachments" section. Once it's in there, you can stick it in a specific part of your message by dragging the link from "Current Attachments" into the message-pane.

Once you're done, you can click "Close This Window" on the attachments pane.

Another trick you can use to add the attachments into your message, is to click the paperclip (in the message area) once you've already uploaded some files. Rather than displaying the attachments window, it will display a list of attachments, from which you can drag items into the message. Once you're happy with your attachments, click "Submit New Thread" to post the message with all the related items.
